April 03, 2016 Sunset Drive

James Hendry presenting with Bryan Joubert on camera

Brent Leo-Smith presenting with Wium Dornbrack on camera.

James,                             ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
We start drive today with James in a tree. He is searching for the mating leopards.
Elephant tracks.

Brent,                              ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Is in the same area as James also searching for the mating leopards.
Warthogs, an Impala herd, and a dwarf mongoose.
Brent gets out of the vehicle to look c loser at the tracks he sees both male and female tracks; he is going to walk-a-bout so he sends us to James.

James,                             ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
15:50 A butterfly he thinks African joker. Nope it's an African leopard butterfly.
We meet up with Wium sitting in the vehicle waiting for Brent to return
Brent comes out of the bush while James is finishing up pulling a tree out from under the vehicle, and tells him that he found the leopards and where to go find them. WOO HOO!
James is not seeing where the leopards are so Brent is driving in to help.

Brent,                              ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
We stay with Brent for a bit while they try to find the leopards. James and Bryan have found them so we go to them.

James,                             ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
16:08 We see Thandi for a second then they mate, we get great views of them mating three times in about twelve minutes and lying down in between with Thandi hissing and rolling right after.

Brent,                              ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Is leaving the sighting to leave James, who has signal, with the leopard s and see what else he can find.
We see a European bee-eater flying and catching its food in mid air, called hawking.
16:52 Impala rams
Scrub hare
16:56 Zebra with Impala.
It's a windy day and the animals are a bit jumpy.

James,                             ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
17:02 We check in with James who is still with the mating leopards who are currently still sleeping and have been since we left them.
After awhile Tingana gets restless and starts to clean himself and even looks at Thandi she then gets up and they mate again. After a few minutes of cleaning, she limps over to where he is resting and they mate again, but for some reason the signal is cutting out for me.

Brent,                              ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
17:18 We go to Brent who is with my favorite animal the HYENAS!!! So happy they are still around.  First we see November cub up walking around and the J-twins chewing on anything they can, madam resting in the open.  A little bit of wrestling around.

James,                             ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
17:23 We go to James to get our last view of the leopards he has to leave to go back to set up for fireside chat. COOL I love FSC! The Thumb makes his appearance today dressed as a potted plant.

Brent,                              ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
17:24 Back to Brent at the hyena den. Nov and the J-twins are wrestling around and a Dec1 twin comes up to join in the fun.
Brent has nicknamed one of the j-twins "Nervous Nelly", since twice it runs off to the den in fear for what seems to be nothing.
An adult hyena arrives and there is greeting its Corky, mom to the Dec-twins. There are five cubs and two adults at this point.
Bela, the son of the matriarch he was born January 2015, shows up and the J-twins bully him like they did last time
Madam gets up to vomit and the cubs all gather in excitement to roll in it.
Brent uses his cell phone and selfie stick to keep a close on the little mischiefs at the tires and under the vehicle. Great idea I love it! So when they get close he shows us on his tablet the little buggers and what they are up to. Bela comes back and greets mom and rolls in her vomit.
The two little J-twins come running back cackling as if they got hurt or scared, Madam stands up, so does Corky and they chase off the newcomer, Brent goes in pursuit.
Looks to me to be June lying in the road with Madam and Corky walking off Brent says he saw another adult running off that is not there now.
17:48 Oh look there is a family of giraffe watching the hyenas.
We hear hyena moaning so we go back for another view of the den.
There is a greeting it's pretty who arrived. The J-twins chew on pretty's ears

17:54 Brent leaves the den to head to the Fireside chat.

18:00 Fireside Chat starts.

End of Drive
