Jamie Paterson presenting with Jeandré Gerding on camera.
Sam Chevallier presenting with Bryan Joubert on camera
Jamie, ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
14
degrees Celsius 58 degrees Fahrenheit. A freezing cold good morning from Jamie.
Sam, ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Sam
says good morning to us and chats for a bit.
Jamie, ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Hyena
den #2 no one is out here either.
Waterbuck
Some
kind of large bone on the side of the road she thinks hyenas dragged it there
and left it, and that is why we haven’t seen them much lately because they have
been on a large kill somewhere for days.
On
her way to Sydney's dam
Waterbuck
with several calves cute as donkeys LOL some impala there too all mixed
together.
Fish
eagle but very far off, by the water.
She
talks on the radio then tells us Tingana is right where we left him last night
so she is going to help talk Sam into the area.
She
is going back to the bone which she believes is from an elephant, to look at it
closer. She picks up the bone and you can see in her face and she tells us, how
disgusting it is and shows us how the joints work and what not.
She
reminds us soon we will be able to go to Cheetah plains property for animal
viewing which is so exciting.
Sam
has made it to Tingana so we go over to his vehicle.
Sam, ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
(HEHE
)Sam introduces himself to Tingana. He found his way into the sighting and
Tingana is sound asleep but Sam is talking to him anyway.
While
Tingana sleeps we go to see what Jamie is up to.
Jamie, ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Jamie
feels like she is at the arctic tundra looking at an arctic Impala.
I
hate being cold too and I am sure I am more tolerant of it since I live in a
cold climate so I make fun of them but also feel for them because I would be
dressed for winter too probably.
Sam, ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Tingana
is now awake and licking his very sore wounds which are most likely from
mating, which can be very violent. When he does finally stand up he is so sore
he barley moves to lay on his other side Poor Guy, but I am sure he will be
fine in no time.
Jamie, ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Giraffe
with Impala by his feet just barely knee high.
Lilac
Breasted rollers
Hornbill
flying
Sam, ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
As
we come over to Sam and Tingana, King T goes and lies down in a bush to help
cover him from the wind.
Jamie, ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Giraffe,
light colored; female with Zebra behind her, well near her once she passes by
them.
A
zebra walks past a giraffe calf and shows us how small the giraffe calf really
is. Or how big depends on how u look at it.
Sam, ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Tingana
is still sleeping.
Jamie, ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Still
with the giraffe and zebra.
Yellow
billed hornbill eating all the "what nots" all around the ground.
Sam, ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Sam is out of the vehicle to show us
a millipede and some elephant dung
OMG
SAM NO Put that thing down!! He picks up a chunk of elephant dung with a scorpion
in it. YIKES!!
Jamie, ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Elephants
at a distance, they are upset so she is staying a safe distance away. They seem
fine but closer they may not be.
Jamie
moves on now that the elephants have moved she wants to go see if there is
tracks of what could have upset the cow in that herd.
She
runs into James.
Fork-tailed
drongo in a far away tree and a bearded woodpecker
James
calls Jamie on the radio and tells her where a nice elephant herd is to view so
she is going there, and sends us to Sam until she gets there.
Sam, ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
08:12
Impala herd.
Jamie, ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Just
next to the DRC sign Jamie is with the elephant herd. The herd seems unsettled
and as she tries to get a good view they move again. So we wait for the cow to
relax
Blue
eared starling
Two
of the calves, one a year or two old, then the tiny one play tug of war with a
stick
Sam, ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Sam
with a three buffalo road block
Jamie, ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Still
with the elephants
Sam, ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Very
nice view of an impressive Impala ram
Sam
says his goodbye for the afternoon.
Jamie, ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Jamie
gets out of her vehicle to find heat from the termite mound vents
Jamie
says all the Thank yous to the viewers and of course the fabulous crew &
Goodbye for the afternoon.
