April 06, 2016 Sunrise Drive

Brent Leo-Smith presenting with Bryan Joubert on camera.

Sam Chevallier presenting with Jeandré Gerding on camera

Brent,                               ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Brent says good morning to us; however his microphone isn’t working so he has to return to get a new one and we go to say good morning to Sam, in the mean time.

Sam,                             ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Sam tells us it's a bit cool and drizzling rain so far this morning. So far on his new bird list he started yesterday he got Magpie shriek, blacksmith plover, red-billed oxpecker, and a crested francolin. (did I miss him saying red-billed hornbill because he had that one too)
He is currently at tree house dam nothing is there yet this morning. Brent tells Sam on the radio that there are leopard tracks in the area and maybe even mating leopards.
We go to Brent as Sam looks for tracks

Brent,                              ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Brent is trying to coordinate search efforts with the other guides in the area on the radio and with the cloudy drizzly weather he has to use his spotlight to see tracks in the road clearly. Aubrey has found Tingana not seen Thandi yet. Brent is going to the leopards and Sam will continue on with other wildlife.
Nope change o f plans against he leopards changed directions and are headed right to Sam however Sam and Jandre's camera is having issues at the moment. Brent has to put rain covers on. Seems as if the rain may cause some issues today and we might have to go on standby until it stops. We will see.
Things changed a few times and now Brent is looking for the leopards at Tree house dam, well he is listening Aubrey can hear them but Brent can't at the moment.
When Brent gets to the leopards they have disappeared again.
So we go to Sam while Brent listens and tracks.

Sam,                             ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
We chat with Sam for awhile.

Brent,                              ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
06:41 Brent has found Tingana and Thandi. Tingana seems very preoccupied with something in a tree or the scent of something he goes up a tree and keeps looking and sniffing around. Thandi follows him up a tree, but he has something else on his mind besides mating at the moment.
While Tingana searches for whatever he smells, Thandi goes back up the tree to rest and sharpens her claws, but she tries to keep a close eye on Tingana and what he is up to.

Sam,                             ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Sam has found Hyenas. We didn't even know they had moved but Sam has found the whole gang at the original Aubrey's road den.
**Quick Note**
As I have said before I have made little personal names for some of the hyenas, without names that the guides use, just to make them easier to talk about IF the guides choose a name and being to use it that to me is an Official name, and I will go by the name they use. I usually try to use names that have something to do with how I recognize them. Only I have used most of these little nicknames I am talking about or used it to chat to a friend, but if I use the name now you know who I am talking about.
06:58 The first one we see is a clan male #15 is the name some viewers know him by to me he has a pattern of spots on his left side that looks like a swirl or galaxy, but somehow I started calling him spiral in my notes so therefore I call him "Spiral #15". Bela (1 year old son to Matriarch) shows up and the cubs are around too both Dec twins and November. D1 has gotten a bundle or roots or something that Bela wants and starts a game of its mine catch me if u can. All Bela ends up with is a stick and the look on his face seems as if he is not happy with his prize.
07:06 The J-twins come out to say hi and "Ary" (Male January 2016 cub of Madam the matriarch) goes to get a closer look at the game near the vehicle, but he quickly runs back to the den hole as Sam sends us over to see what Brent is up to.

Brent,                              ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Thandi is still up relaxing in the tree ad Tingana at the moment is out of Brent's sight.  She comes down from the tree and walks off so the vehicles need to move around to see her so we go to Sam.

Sam,                             ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
We go back to Sam still a t the hyena den for a bit, but all the hyenas seem to be in the den or around the other side. Sam shows us his cool book. I am excited to hear the sounds the book makes of the hyenas.

Brent,                              ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Tingana has found Karula's kill, a duiker and is eating it. With Thandi off watching from a safe distance.

Sam,                             ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
7:29 Is out of the vehicle and shows us a blue commelina flower
Brent,                              ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
07:34 Tingana is still eating on the Duiker carcass.
Is planning on leaving the leopards to let others into the sighting and he will go looking for the lions.

Sam,                             ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
07:42 Impala play fighting
Crested francolin
Zebra play fighting all same sighting

Brent,                              ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
1:57 looking for Nkuhuma lions
08:05 Buffalo bull

Sam,                             ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
08:09 Zebra giraffe and waterbuck at Sydney's dam
Barn swallow
Starlings again no yellow eye Burchell's

Brent,                              ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
The freezing cold Brent tells us the Nkuhuma seems to have left the area. The naughty elephant with the hole in his ear is around he is looking for him.
Flock of red-billed buffalo weavers
The signal tower with a huge nest in it
Impala one darker than the rest her fur is puffed to warm her

Sam,                             ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Grey Go-away bird

Sam says his goodbyes for the Day.

Brent,                              ````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Brent is wrapped in a wool blanket

Brent says goodbye and Thank you to all the viewers and the crew he is headed in to warm up!
Poor Brent so cold!!
