March 13, 2016 Sunset Drive



     We start fight off with my favorite bird the yellow-billed hornbill and one of my favorite men James Hendry with Jeandré Gerding.

     Good afternoon from Brent Leo-Smith another of my favorite men with Wium Dornbrack on camera. Brent's cheery energized personality works well with my coffee to wake me up on my mornings and their afternoons.

  • (2016/03/13 16:23) The signal is bad today and keeps blinking and black screen. James is looking for a female leopard he saw while on foot earlier today. He is going to track on foot so he sends us to Brent nope Brent is black screen = no signal so we stay with James.

  • (2016/03/13 16:34) Has found an elephant herd while looking for the baboons.
  • (2016/03/13 16:48) Buffalo lying in a water pan one stands up when Brent slowly drives by.
 








James,
  • (2016/03/13 16:51) He found nothing on foot so he is headed over to Djuma pan. Signal is shaking and blinking for him again so we go back to Brent.

Brent,
  • (2016/03/13 16:53) I made a recording of the elephants making sounds with one smaller elephant coming out of the bush. Then Brent drives on to Buffelshoek waterhole.



James,

    •  (2016/03/13 17:11) Plum colored Dung beetle (VIDEO) of James picking one up and bringing it to the camera for a great close up view.

    • (2016/03/13 17:26) Signal is bad on both vehicles both blinking and black screens off and on.

    • (2016/03/13 17:55) Elephants not a great view and we are running out of daylight time for the hyena den so off we go.  Then the rest of the herd, James can't resist we stop for a short view.

    • (2016/03/13 18:06) A massive flock of Bee-eaters flies over Brent at the lions, but we don't get to see them.
     James,
    • (2016/03/13 18:08) Hyena den.  The January twins climbing all over their mother, Madam. One j-twin climbs up the mount to great November

    • (2016/03/13 18:17) A 20 year old or so Elephant bull with the sun setting in the background.
    • (2016/03/13 18:19) A katydid was on Wium's camera so Brent took him off to show us.
     James,
    • (2016/03/13 18:20) Moving vehicle at den. Mistakes June for one of the older one year old cubs, but it was June.  After some adorable play time with June and the three present cubs, Corky shows
      

    • (2016/03/13 18:25) Then one of the December twins comes from the left and starts wrestling with November. Then the next D-twin.

    • (2016/03/13 18:30) One lioness is up and walking a second is sitting up.

    • (2016/03/13 18:42) Bushvelt rain frog eats a termite alate.

    • (2016/03/13 18:44) Lioness grooming each other.
    • (2016/03/13 18:47) The lions are up

    • (2016/03/13 18:51) Ground beetle hunting termite alates.
    James says his goodbye for the night.
