March 16, 2016 Sunset Drive






This afternoon we start off with Brent Leo-Smith and David Eastaugh on camera.

 Good afternoon from James who is trying to find the Nkuhuma pride he has Wium Dornbrack on camera today.


Brent, 

  •  (2016/03/16 16:08) Brent gets word from FC that Stef said there are Monkeys alarm calling at Galego pan so he is off in a hurry to see what is out there.

James,

  • (2016/03/16 16:18) He tells us that the lions are not around where he was with them this morning; he walked around a bit to make sure. He also tells us one of the lionesses is making extra special friends with the Birmingham boys LOL
  • (2016/03/16 16:27) impala runs off as we finally get a good view of him

Brent,

  • (2016/03/16 16:27) now trying to see what was alarming the monkeys
  • (2016/03/16 16:29) well hidden Nyala
  • (2016/03/16 16:31) Two warthog sows and some piglets 



James,

  • (2016/03/16 16:34) Wolf spider on the water

  • (2016/03/16 16:38) mushrooms

  • (2016/03/16 16:45) James looks where something was digging in a mound

Brent,

  • (2016/03/16 16:51) Shows us an area that a carcass was dragged past. He is going to walk around and see if he can find what it is.

James,

  • (2016/03/16 16:53)  Wahlberg's eagle soaring about in the sky.

Brent,

  • (2016/03/16 16:59) Tells us about the drag mark. He followed it and found that whatever it was the hyenas took the rest or ate it and he shows us a fresh bone from it.









James,

  • (2016/03/16 17:02) Two young kudu eating termites on a mound.  Then we see the rest of the herd.


Brent,

  • (2016/03/16 17:14)  Warthog  bachelor group.

James,

  • (2016/03/16 17:18)  James lying on the ground with a baboon's tail flower






















  • (2016/03/16 17:19) Wium spots elephants hidden in the thick bush  so  we go off road to see them. Its the half trunk cow and her calf.

**At this point I had to leave, and when I went back to watch what I missed on archives there was something wrong and there are no archives from 17:12 on. So as I can watch what I missed on other viewers recordings I won't have the exact archives time. **

James,

  • Woodland Kingfisher

  • James sees a genet but it runs off to fast for us to see it.

Brent, 

  •  Found the Nkuhuma lioness

James, arrives at the sighting and we go back and forth between the two vehicle while viewing the lions.  It appears they maybe hunting 

A couple minutes before the end of drive we leave the lions and let them continue to hunt.
